My neon paper sculpture combines the tactile qualities of handmade paper, expressively painted surfaces and the mystery of illuminated neon. The imagery is inspired by the repetitive patterns of both the macro and micro world of nature.

Each sculpture is created through a unique process I have developed of embedding neon art glass within cast paper. Sometimes, other objects or materials are also cast into the paper creating texture or surface enhancements. Once the paper is dry the sculpture is removed from the mold, and the back is hardened with gesso. Then I paint the front surface with acrylic pigment. When, the painting is finished, the sculpture is mounted to a frame with an enclosed back. The wiring of the neon is contained within the frame. Each sculpture comes with its own 12 volt electrical power supply.
